English: Photograph of the Bhor Ghat reversing station from the 'Lee-Warner Collection: 'Bombay Presidency. William Lee Warner C.S.' taken by an unknown photographer in the 1870s. The Bhor Ghat reversing station is situated at a height of 2027 feet on the Great Peninsula railway line from Bombay to Pune in Maharashtra. This route required passing over the western Ghats. In addition to the reversing station, there were 25 tunnels and 22 bridges. On the 25 January 1869, there was an accident at Bhor Ghat when a mail train was unable to brake.

  • गुमनाम कार्य, फ़ोटोग्राफ़, चलचित्र, ध्वनि रिकॉर्डिंग, सरकारी कार्य, तथा कॉर्पोरेट लेखकत्व या अंतर्राष्ट्रीय संगठनों केे कार्य, उनके पहली बार प्रकाशित होने की तिथि से 60 वर्ष बाद सार्वजनिक डोमेन में आ जाते हैं, जिसकी गणना पंचांग के अगले वर्ष के आरंभ से की जाती है (अर्थात 2026 तक, 1 जनवरी 1966 से पहले प्रकाशित कार्य सार्वजनिक डोमेन में माने गए हैं)।
  • मरणोपरांत प्रकाशित कार्य (उपरोक्त के अलावा), प्रकाशन की तिथि से 60 वर्ष बाद सार्वजनिक डोमेन में आ जाते हैं, जिसकी गणना पंचांग के अगले वर्ष के आरंभ से की जाती है।
  • उपरोक्त के अलावा सभी प्रकार के कार्य, लेखक की (या फिर बहु-लेखकीय कार्यों के मामले में अंतिम जीवित लेखक की) मृत्यु के 60 वर्ष बाद सार्वजनिक डोमेन में आ जाते हैं, जिसकी गणना पंचांग के अगले वर्ष के आरंभ से की जाती है।
  • कानून, अदालती राय, और दूसरे सरकारी रिपोर्ट्स का टेक्स्ट कॉपीराइट से मुक्त होता है।
भारतीय प्रतिलिप्याधिकार अधिनियम, 1957 पूर्वव्यापी नहीं है, तो इसके लागू होने के समय जिन कार्यों पर कॉपीराइट मौजूद नहीं था, उनपर कॉपीराइट पुनर्स्थापित नहीं कर दिया गया था, यानी वे कार्य प्रतिलिप्याधिकार अधिनियम 1911 के अधीन सार्वजनिक डोमेन में हैं।
