बोहाई सागर या बोहाई खाड़ी (चीनी भाषा: 渤海, अंग्रेज़ी: Bohai Sea) उत्तरी और उत्तरपूर्वी चीन से लगा हुआ एक सागर है जो पीले सागर की सबसे अंदरूनी खाड़ी है। पीले सागर के साथ-साथ बोहाई सागर भी प्रशांत महासागर का एक हिस्सा है। बोहाई सागर का कुल क्षेत्रफल क़रीब ७८,००० वर्ग किमी है। चीन की राजधानी बीजिंग के बहुत पास होने की वजह से यह समुद्री यातायात के नज़रिए से दुनिया के सब से व्यस्त समुद्री क्षेत्रों में से एक है।[१]
ऐतिहासिक नाम
बीसवी सदी से पहले बोहाई सागर को अक्सर 'चिहली की खाड़ी' (直隸海灣, Gulf of Chihli) या 'पेचिहली की खाड़ी' (北直隸海灣, Gulf of Pechihli) कहा जाता था।
सुरंग बनाने की योजना
फ़रवरी २०११ में चीन की सरकार ने ऐलान किया की लियाओदोंग प्रायद्वीप और शानदोंग प्रायद्वीप को जोड़ने के लिए वे समुद्र के फ़र्श के नीचे से एक १०६ किलोमीटर लम्बी सुरंग निकालेंगे जो इतनी चौड़ी होगी की उसमें रेल और सड़क दोनों प्रकार के यातायात चलेंगे।[२]
